About

Caroline Rolf (b. Cambridge, UK) is an interdisciplinary artist working through somatic movement, performance, moving image, drawing, and writing. My practice begins in the body — in sensation, attention, and the traces that remain when movement or presence has passed.

I work with somatic practice as both material and method, using movement as a way of listening to what is subtle, unresolved, or not yet formed. I am interested in absence as a generative condition, and in the quiet states where creative work can emerge without being rushed into definition.

Alongside my artistic practice, I have spent twenty-five years supporting artists through commissioning, curating, teaching, studio provision, and grant-making, including ten years as Founder Director of an artist-led commissioning charity in London. This experience continues to shape how I work — attentive to ethics, process, and the conditions that allow artists and ideas to unfold over time.
